DR. SHARMANE GRADY

Sharmane Grady is an experienced mental health professional with a decade of clinical counseling experience. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA in Criminal Justice, and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Hampton University, Hampton, VA. Grady has conducted individual, couples and group therapy in Hospital as well as private practice settings using various therapy approaches to include Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. In addition to direct therapeutic intervention, Grady also has served in supervisory roles in clinical settings where she oversaw mental health clinicians working intensive in-home, and therapeutic day treatment programs, by providing weekly supervision sessions for supervisees and assists in case crisis. Finally, Grady is an experienced and energetic group facilitator, having facilitated group processes focused on Mindfulness, Creative Recovery, Legal Issues, Recovery Lifestyles, Basic Substance Abuse, Self-Esteem, 12 Steps Recovery, Drug Free Living and many other groups.

JANELLE JOHNSON, M.A., LPC

Janelle Johnson, M.A., LPC comes to Sound Mind’s NACN team with over a decade of clinical experience as a licensed professional counselor practicing in the southeastern region of Virginia. Holding and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Arts in Counseling both from Hampton University, Hampton, VA, she possesses strong skills in providing non-violent crisis intervention for individuals and families. Johnson provides direct clinical counseling to a diversified caseload of clients utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Person-Centered approaches with children, adolescents, and adults, in individual, couples, group, and family session formats. With extensive experience in group processing, Johnson is a highly effective group leader that facilitates regular substance abuse groups for adolescents and adults, in addition to conducting workshops and trainings on various mental health topics within the Hampton Roads community. In addition to direct therapeutic intervention, Johnson provides clinical supervision to Residents in Counseling in the process of receiving their professional counseling license in the state of Virginia.
